When you stumble to your medicine cabinet, there will no magic bottle labeled "Hangover-Rx," or at least not one that works. In that spirit, Spinner asked some musicians to dish their best hangover remedies, because at the end of the day, there is no true cure.
Alison Mosshart (The Kills, the Dead Weather): "It's usually play a show and then I feel fine because you sweat like crazy. I don't get hangovers too much, but when I do I drink Berocca. My doctor told me to take it everyday because it's basically the multi-vitamin in a drink. It's incredible. It doesn't make you feel better, but you know that it's good for you so mentally you're like, 'I needed all those vitamins, thank you.'"
B-52s' Keith Strickland: "Green Tea is about the best one I have used. Coconut water is really good too."
B-52s' Kate Pierson: "I don't believe in the hair of the dog. I think drinking a ton of water and getting a lot of sleep is the best remedy." Read more...
To make your New Year's resolution for weight loss stick, here are a few things to know.
1. Forget the weight loss pills and shakes. Weight loss products are not the magic bullet and may not even be safe.
2. Starving yourself doesn't burn fat. Cutting calories too much makes your body store the fat, instead of burning fat.
3. Don't eat fat free foods. Fat free is not healthy and can make your body store fat in cellulite. Eat the right fats like coconut oil and butter from grass fed cows.
4. Do not use packaged low calorie - low fat meals. You will see faster and safer results with real food.
5. No diet soft drinks, these actually make more fat stored in cellulite.
6. Eating all vegetables is not fat burning. Your body needs protein even if you are vegetarian. Protein is one key part of Dr. Heidi's fat burn plan.
Here are some great food sources of high-quality protein:
Poultry: Pastured chicken and turkey
Beef: Grass fed beef is a wonderful fat burning protein
Eggs: Eggs from pastured chickens are a great source of protein and also Vitamin D
Beans and Legumes: Contain the most protein found in any vegetable. Not low carb so some people won't lose weight eating beans and legumes.
Nuts: Eaten in moderation, nuts offer a lot of protein
Dr. Heidi's ER fat burn program teaches how to lose the weight with real food. No packaged foods, pills or shakes, just real food, and a group of people with the same goal, to burn the fat.

For my breakfast drink I use whey protein powder. The one I use is from grass fed cows. I've tried goat whey protein powders but couldn't get used to the taste.
Whey protein is a by-product of the cheese manufacturing process. At one time it was discarded or used for animal feed, but researchers later realized whey protein has incredible benefits for humans. Visit Dr. Mercola's site to learn all the health benefits of whey protein powder.
You can make 2010 the year you lose the weight and maybe even get healthier. See what Dr. Heidi's ER Fat Burn Program offers and visit Dr. Mercola's health site for the whey protein powder and many more products for health.

When your doctor takes a blood pressure reading it is reported as two numbers. The first, or the upper number, being systolic and the second or lower number being called the diastolic number. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute have issued the following guidelines for interpreting these numbers.
⢠Normal Blood Pressure is below 120/80 mmHg
⢠When systolic pressure is 120 to 129 and diastolic pressure is 80 to 89 this is defined as prehypertension.
⢠Stage 1 hypertension is systolic 140 to 159 and diastolic between 90 and 99.
⢠Stage 2 hypertension is when systolic is higher than 160 and diastolic is over 100. Read more...
The FDA recently gave its nod of approval on the matter, announcing that Crestor can now be advertised and prescribed as a "preventive" medicine. No longer does a patient need to have anything wrong with them to warrant this expensive prescription medication: They only need to remember the brand name of the drug from television ads.
This FDA approval for the marketing of Crestor to healthy people is a breakthrough for wealthy drug companies. Selling drugs only to people who are sick is, by definition, a limited market. Expanding drug revenues requires reaching people who have nothing wrong with them and convincing them that taking a cocktail of daily pharmaceuticals will somehow keep them healthy. Read more...
